I would start by looking for a QA,producer, or support role and then work your way up. Those positions are entry level and pay a lot more than minimum all you need is basic technical skills.

Do we get a choice of what we do? I am interested in testing and security only not so much feature building and front-end work.

Also, do grad students qualify?

There are tons of meetups in Seattle! Check out meetup.com and we also have Beer && Code at Substantial if you are a developer.

FYI: The Seattle Tech meetup isn't really about tech it's a sales pitch type thing. Some people like it I personally would never go back.

Awesome, thanks a ton!

I always thought BetaPunch was some sort of scam. I see them posting on r/forhire every week hiring people to record vids for $5.

It would been even better if you got there in half the time. I would love for Concorde to come back with some improvements of course.

My place is under 200sq ft in Seattle.

I some times look at the career section for startups and alcohol seems to be a common theme. Either kegs or stocked fridges.

I wonder if we will see 420 friendly companies in WA and CO in the near future.

if you want to go into mobile look at this http://mobile.tutsplus.com/

What would be the difference between this and other services that already exist like TaskRabbit and Postmates?

The big difference is that this allows you to make money on a "task" that you're already doing anyway. Remember, you would make deliveries only to places that are close to your home, which is where you're headed. It's only a matter of making a small detour on the way home.

I don't even think it will be about the money. I could see this being a system where you earn credits for delivering, so that in the future, you get free deliveries yourself.

"why DOES IT HAVE TO BE so expensive"

It doesn't have to be. I live in a large city and all of these new apartment constructions are popping up.

The thing about new apartment constructions is that they come with gyms, parking spaces, roof top decks w/ bbq grills, movie theaters, etc. All things that I and many others don't need.Yet my option is pay for it or pay half and move into a 100yr old building with "vintage old world charm".

It would be nice to see a trend of new modern buildings with out the frills so people have some place affordable.
