MS frustrates this by changing the icons with every major release, though. I have no idea what the Word 2013 icon looks like. They didn't even keep the colour conventions - outlook always used to be yellow.

But yes, VS2012 is a worst-case scenario. The TFS source-control file browser makes my eyes want to bleed.
