I've written this on HN before. The most important thing to remember about the Minimum Viable Product is that, no matter what you may call it or try to think about it, it's still version 1.0. And that means when you start working on the follow on version, you will inevitably run into the second system effect.
Only because you've been referring to v1 as the MVP, everyone thinks launching the "real first version" will be a straight forward process. Only it won't be, because it's v2.0 and the second system effect blindsides everyone and the result is even worse.

Don't be fooled by the siren call of the MVP.
