"Best practices" is cargo culting. You wanna talk about people that just 'do' no matter the risk, informed or not - well, blindly adhering to what someone else calls 'best practices' is just exactly that. And they're often bad practices.

Of course, that's situationally-dependent. If you've got the constructive and critical thinking bit, hopefully you're questioning those practices. If cowboys are thriving, there's a reason why. They may be wrong sometimes, but sometimes they might be right.

My choices of words may not be ideal. I guess more soo fundamental good practices than similarly above criticised buzzword-like.
