Ah, so if I understand the Zoom CEO correctly, "protecting" pedophiles is fine as long as they pay Zoom. It's only an issue when they try to use Zoom for free.
The issue is that the free tier makes creating and disposing of burner accounts easy. If you pay, they have credit card info, etc. That makes it easy for law enforcement to link the Zoom account to a real person if it turns out that a particular account is a pedophile.
That’s how I understand it. What disadvantaged groups would be using Zoom for free that law enforcement would want to target? Protest organizers maybe?
