If this AI bubble pops we'll just have a ton of cheap powerful GPUs on the market and possibly even an uptick in job growth in tech.

The US government has now been taken over by religious extremists. The irony...

I remember being worried about James Dobson, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell back in the 90s and how they were influencing politics from a distance. Thinking that was the worst it could be. Now we have [1].

they're only pretending to be religious extremists so they will get those votes, though. just like they pretend to be everything else. when the mask comes off and they call the shots, this is who Republicans are. Guardians of Pedophiles.

> this is who Republicans are. Guardians of Pedophiles.

They are the worst of the worst! Always projecting!!

Republicans spread hatred about trans people during the day, but at night, they thirst for them and get caught fucking them.

Their voters are just next level dilusionals!!

I think it’s taken by greed focused extremists, they’re just trying to bide favor with some other extremist groups as their flail to maintain their power and attempt to expand it.

I've been saying this for years and people thought I was going insane.

Is it impossible for white billionaires to stop using Africa as a playground for their sick and depraved experiments?

It's an Indian government project though - the entire MOSIP project was developed in an Indian public university [0] and is directly tied with India's "global south" strategy [1]. Plus the majority of it's governance board is associated with the Indian government or Tata Group.

Digital Public Infrastructure in the "Global South" is India's attempt at building a digital version of OBOR [2].

Since I had to look it up, OBOR = One Belt One Road = Belt and Road Initiative, which is China's project for building infrastructure in developing countries to promote tighter economic integration with China.

It's a more literal translation of the Chinese name "一带一路".

Indian Govt. has been hijacked by the Anglo-American elites though by bribing all politicians/bureaucrats/capitalists.

This is just a wolf in a sheep's clothing.

Digital IDs are sick and depraved?

We are not at war with Iran so it's ok

Good thing Isreal is our greatest ally. If they were our enemy they'd be doing this to Americans

That is how some NSA-type agencies work around the prohibition of spying on their own citizens: they have the agency of another country do it. I think some also just ignore the prohibition. The German BND has the "space theory", the idea that the data might have theoretically been transmitted by satellites, which makes it okay to intercept.

If you think every nation isn’t doing it to every other nation, constantly, I have a bridge to sell you (cheap!).

"Israel isn't doing it, but I'll find a way to accuse it of doing it anyway."

Wait until you find out what Americans are doing to everyone else on earth (and sometimes to themselves). Americans should sit down. Don’t talk about surveillance and spies as if Americans have never ever spied or used survilliance.

So what? We want to be the strongest. The principle is not 'dont spy', the principle is 'dont spy on ME'.

You're delusional if you think the US isn't spying on you though.

They spy on everyone, they just happen to pay US-companies to do the spying to avoid any accountability.

I don't think we should also just tolerate spying on other countries. Why does the average Joe Blogs in Sweden need to be spied on by the US Government?

they might be doing it, we never know.

Good move. We need military officers that can create strategies for killing as many brown people as possible thousands of miles away on command. We don't need free-thinking leftists /s

Why does HN continue to delete all comments against this?

Enable "show dead" in your profile to see things that get flagged to oblivion and that action is by the user-base not moderators.

Do you have any proof for this?

Your parents "immigrated" from Russia to steal land. You should be blaming your parents. Your argument is bad.

Is this what every American tell themselves when they wake up in the morning? Or that what every Arab says to himself outside of Yemen, Saudi and Oman?

Yes every morning I wake up and think, why are my tax dollars going towards a parasitic entity who has taken complete control over our government to fight it's wars for them when we can barely afford basic necessities at home.

So Texas should be returned to Mexico, right?

This works so much better when there are living people who care.

So we just need to wait until people stop caring?

I mean, by the letter of things I am assuming that Jason is supporting the genocide of Palestinians.

Nobody living would care anymore, I guess.

You might want to brush up on HN's guidelines if you think that these comments are acceptable here:

Please don't fulminate. Please don't sneer, including at the rest of the community.

Please respond to the strongest plausible interpretation of what someone says, not a weaker one that's easier to criticize. Assume good faith.

Eschew flamebait. Avoid generic tangents. Omit internet tropes.

I often find that when I'm criticising something to be specific about what; in this case, which guideline you think I am in violation of.

Given the quote from Jason:

> This works so much better when there are living people who care.

What's the strongest interpretation of this given the context?

There's two ways to make this a reality:

1) Stop them caring

2) Stop them living

Given that the international community has been pushing hard for nearly a century for option 1; I'm guessing Jason means option 2.

I'm not sure, maybe you can find a way to express it without breaking HN guidelines.

Your accusation was way off-base and deliberately offensive. You are capable of making the same point without stooping down the hierarchy of disagreement, so do it.

I am, let's leave my comment for the mods then.

Yeah that Venezuela, Iraq and Afghanistan things are definitive proof all Americans wars are fought because of Israel

People will move to selfhosted for a while, find out it's more expensive to maintain, switch to SaaS and then a couple years later will switch back to selfhosted. It's an endless cycle

Nah you don’t get it.
