+1. Merry Christmas!!

I got the same thing copying plain text from a word document.

I'd be interested in knowing what idea you had when registering textjs.com

I am a typical Indian engineer who has just recently graduated ( This Year) and I am pissed off at the article.

1. The original Economic Times article points that a large number of engineers are struggling to get placed but fails to give any satisfying evidence. 2. The article also only takes in account the candidates that got placed through college placement, it entirely disregards the engineers who may have gotten job through other means or those who may have started a business of their own. 3. Compare the hiring data that is shown for two universities - For IIT it is fairly consistent, For Amity, as the article mentions the placements are currently underway in the institute so it is not final data. 4. It says that India's IT industry will be hiring fewer people this year however it doesn't take into account other Indian industries which saw a boom in hiring this year - such as the Indian auto industry. In fact the article is mainly or as I suspect solely based on the IT industry data.

To conclude I think the Economic Times article only convinces me of one thing - rate of increase in engineers in India is proportional to it's population growth rate which I should think is the natural course of things.

My count of favorite HTML5 games moves up to 3. First Subbania then Buildy and now this one. You should probably add more physics as @ivan_ah said.

We are a democratic country they said. We believe in fundamental rights they said.

Where the hell is the world going?

Awesome. One can also use it to analyse various trends on HN. For ex. look at this story: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4739649 from November 4th 6:40 pm to 11:00 pm. Shows you how HN'ers are eager to help each other.

Can't we all just take a cartoon AS a cartoon? I don't think Munroe is trying to'smack down' frequentists here, it's all just for a little fun. Look at his own comment on the post: http://andrewgelman.com/2012/11/16808/#comment-109366
